Saif Ali Khan
is at the top of his game as actor and also producer. The
star’s journey may seem to be at its zenith, but trust us when
we say that things haven’t always been that hunky-dory
for this hunk.
With his beginnings in films like
Humesha and Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Saif wasn’t your
favourite hero. His roles were indecisive, and often severely
criticised. It’s his breakthrough in Yeh Dillagi-
the movie with the Ole Ole song- that brought him to
the notice of filmmakers as an actor. However, the era-defining
movie Dil Chahta Hai
- 2001, finally brought Saif’s potential to the audience. He
played Samir- the hopeless romantic of the famous trio of
friends. His act as Rohit Patel in Kal Ho Na Ho and Salaam Namaste
was just as hilarious and impressive, shedding new
light on the metrosexual look. His prowess as a
performer of many talents hasn’t stopped since.
Parineeta
brought the Nawabi side out in the open as Saif played the
Bengali brat. Saif, who till then had been the typical,
rich city slicker, blew away the minds of viewers all
over by playing the character of 'Langda Tyaagi’ in Omkara.
Langda Tyaagi onwards, Saif has showed off his skill by
playing different characters. Though most often spotted
often in movies that have him playing urban, cheerful
characters, Aarakshan of 2010 saw him play a Dalit teacher. The movie’s bad collections apart, his role was well-appreciated.
Though
not among the top 3 Khans of Bollywood, Saif Ali Khan
is a strong contender in the superstar race!
