If you thought Gangs of Wasseypur
brought raw and unadulterated talent only on-screen, you're wrong- it's
more than just on screen. The very talented music director Sneha
Khanwalkar discovered the perfect singer for the Chi Cha Leather track of Gangs of Wasseypur 2, in a 12-year old train singer, Durga.
“I
was amazed when I heard Durga singing,” says Sneha, “Had I heard her
voice and not seen her, I would have never guessed that she is all of
12-years old. The power and throw that she has in her vocals at such a
young age is absolutely outstanding. Durga is no doubt a gifted singer
and very hard working as well. We are lucky to have found her.”
The
trouble with this child-talent is thats she is hard to get in touch
with. Media shy Durga doesn't have a contact number, and to get any
communication to her, Anurag Kashyap and Sneha require anything between 2
days to a week.
The process of
getting into contact with her is tedious, and no media-person has been
able to do it yet. Durga prefers to stay away from the limelight. Anurag
and Sneha contact a vendor on the train and he in return gets them in
touch with Durga.
It takes a lot of
effort, but given the track Durga has delivered for the much awaited
film, we believe that the girl is worth the effort of the hunt!
