Govinda
may have entertained you all along with his brand of masala flicks,
that made you laugh and dance and feel all filmy, but the actor’s all
set to return as the hero of the scene with his football-coach act. An
unlikely choice for the plump star, it’s likely that you may not picture
him to be the perfect sportsman. But Govinda is all prepared to woo the
audiences with his fitter self now.
“I was determined to get into
shape. And I managed it,” he says, “Now my daily routine has changed. I
stopped eating dinner completely. I do yoga in the morning and then two
hours at the gym. This routine will remain unchanged even after the
film. My role as a sportsperson now stretches far beyond this film.”
His film- Avatar is set to shine light on the Indian football scene the way Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Chak De! India
put stress on the Indian hockey scenario. “We neglect all games and
sports except cricket. Hopefully my film will break that monopoly and
motivate youngsters to try games other than cricket,” says the actor who
will be taking the football experience a step ahead by organizing
matches for his industry friends who love football like Ranbir Kapoor and Vishal Bharadwaj. Even Producer Pahlaj Nihalani is keen on making Avatar the ‘Chak De’ of Indian football.
Hopefully, the good intentions of the filmmakers will bear fruit with the film!
