Aamir Khan once crooned 'Papa kehtein hain bada naam karega', and now his son
seems to have followed in his footsteps too, by entering the film
industry.
Young Junaid, all of 17, is all set to be the first assistant to director Rajkumar Hirani, for his upcoming film, Peekay. The film, incidentally, features his father Aamir and Anushka Sharma. Apparently, it was Hirani who offered Junaid the job, and while he was initially taken aback, he agreed.
A
source close to Aamir's family reveals, “Junaid has always been
fascinated by the various aspects of film-making. He used to often
accompany his father to the sets of his films. He always had a
viewpoint. And Aamir was rather impressed with it.”
Junaid also convinced his father that he'd work on the condition that he wouldn't compromise on his studies.
The
boy has in fact, already begun work. Some of it involves travelling
around the country with the unit, looking for locations. With the
filmmaker having been at the helm of projects like the Munnabhai series
and 3 Idiots, we hope that Peekay works as a launchpad to this young man's career!
