Twenty20 comes to bollywood



The Khans Brothers of bollywood Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan indulged in a friendly Twenty20 cricket match on May 1st at the Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium. They along with many other celebrities came together to do so against a team of physically handicapped people. Their motive behind this match which was supported by the EVE Foundation (Empowering Villages Everywhere) was to voice out and proved that disability is not the end and being handicapped doesn’t weaken the spirits of the Daredevil Indians.


 ‘Junoon’ the Celebrity Charity Match was supported by the Cricket Club of India and the Rotaract Club of HR College having the ticket proceedings of the match go in providing prosthetics (pseudo limbs) to various rural districts in Maharashtra.

The opposing team players had requested the stars to be candid and not give them extra advantages and opportunities as they want the match to be a fair one. The players wearing calipers, clumping on crutches because of being amputees played the match with their own abilities and talent and how.

Celebrities like Rani MukherjeeSharman Joshi, Sohail and Arbaaz, Dilip Joshi, Maanav Gohil, Atul Kulkarni, Prateik Babbar, Isha Kopikar, Disha Vankani, Aftab Shivdasani too joined the cause and event with the Principle of HR College – Indu Shahani, by being a part of it, cheering and supporting for it.

Besides there were performances carried out by brilliant dancers of the physically disabled troupe trained in Shaimak Davar’s classes and Music played by a Blind band that escalated the spirits of Indians.

What a star studded eventful day it was.
