Iqbal Sharma, an NRI businessman who was dining at Wasabi restaurant at the Taj in Colaba on Tuesday night, has registered a case of assault against Saif Ali Khan under section 325, IPC. Saif can be arrested for this assault and can be behind bars for seven years. This charge is non-bailable and Saif has to go to court to get bail.
On Tuesday night around 4am, Saif was at the Taj Hotel with his friends, including Kareena and Karisma Kapoor. Apparently, when Iqbal Sharma asked Saif to keep his voice low, the latter replied, “If you want peace, go to a library.” Further, Saif allegedly threw a Chinese bowl on him and fractured his nose. Iqbal, enraged by Saif’s behaviour, registered a case against Saif at Colaba Police Station under section 325 of IPC.
It will be a bit difficult for Saif to get out easily from this assault incident since there were other onlookers in the hotel and CCTV cameras might have caught this incident.
A similar case was registered against Saif by a photo-journalist in Patiala in 2008. But, the matter was laid to rest after the actor apologized.
If our Bollywood stars can exercise a bit of restraint, such unpleasant incidents can surely be avoided.
